Dubai: With the start of the 6th edition of Odisha Cup in UAE, all the teams have been playing great cricket. The 1st day of the tournament saw 4 matches between 8 teams but one of match to watch out was the Group A match between Odisha Blaster Vs Star 11 .
One of the major reason because many players of Star 11 were Ex Odisha Blaster players. Odisha Blasters won the toss and chose to bat first. The opening pair of Saurabh and Deepak gave the team a great start while Senior player Rajat Rath held the batting in the middle order. The team finished their 15 over innings with 118/6. The most economic bowler from Star11 was Sampad with an economy of 6.33 ( 3 over, 19 run )
Star 11 started crumbling from the start with their star batsman Salman & Umed being bowled out by Zahir in the 1st and 3rd over respectively. The new bowlers also showed their class by restricting the whole of the innings to 73/9 in 15 overs. The highest score by Star 11 was by their captain Gulzar ( 17 run). The most economic bowler from Odisha Blaster was Zahid with an economy of 3.00 ( 3 over, 9 runs, 2 wicket ) while new Bowler Taher also took 2 wickets with an economy of 5.67
The Opening batsman of Odisha Blaster Mr. Deepak was awarded the Man of the Match award for his lighting performance of 28 runs which included 4 fours. Deepak who hails from Cuttuck when asked about the secret of his batting replied, its all that I wanted to do while I was in the crease to hit the ball hard and hit it out of the park.
