Bhubaneswar: Mo Cycle, the healthy alternative to city’s growing transport need and a vehicle for last mile connectivity for the Mo Bus service, has added 400 cycles to its fleets after a short stopover following the massive devastation during the severe cyclonic storm Fani, which hit the city on May 3.
While the entire city is having strength of 2,000 cycles and 1,800 cycles are on track using nearly 300 docking stations, following the impact of the severe cyclonic storm the entire system was out of track as it runs over an IT framework and GPS. However, today’s inclusion of 400 to the stalled system has brought smile to many users who were eager to use the cycles once they are docked to the stations.
Meanwhile, 170 Mo Bus out of its fleet of 190 has started running on the designated 19 routes. While eight buses from Route No. 31 joining Hi-Tech Medical College and Bhubaneswar Railway Station (Master Canteen) are out of track, the rest 182 buses should have been on the road. However, while 170 have joined the service despite the difficulties after the cyclonic storm, the other 12 will be joining within a day or two.
