Kaniha: NTPC-MCL Cup organised at NTPC Kaniha in association with Sports Council on December 2,2018 at Stage II stadium of the township. This is the 2nd year that NTPC Kaniha is organising the friendly cricket tournament for promotion of industrial relation between the PSUs.
The friendly cricket fixture was inaugurated on by Chief Guest Shri Santosh James, Chief General Manager ,NTPC Kaniha by trying a hand on the bat in the presence Shri K K Das ,GM(FM) , Shri N S Rao,GM(TS) & MCL officials.
On the occasion Shri James said “sports are necessary for maintaining fitness and it should be played with sportsmanship spirit which will make the game enjoyable. Such games should be played on regular basis for promoting healthy relation”. In the limited 25 over match, Team NTPC Kaniha won the toss and elected to field first. MCL team scored 110/9 chasing the total Team NTPC Kaniha scored 111/4 in 16 over and won the match. Player from NTPC Kaniha ,Prasant Dsa was declared as the man of the Match by fetching four wickets.
Organisation of the match was coordinated by Shri Rashi Satpathy ,Secretary & Shri Tapanseswar Pradhan ,Joint Secretary and executive members of Secretary Sports Council,NTPC Kaniha.
