Bhubaneswar: Odia rendering of well known Bengali singer-composer-lyricist Kabir Suman’s songs is going to be released at Kalakunj in Kolkata on 22 April evening. The album titled ‘Anya Katha, Anya Geeta’ has 12 tracks, including the iconic song of Kabir Suman Tomake chai. All the songs have been sung by Namrata Mohanty. The original Bengali lyrics have been translated into Odia by Mrinal Chatterjee. This is his first foray into translation of lyrics.
Kabir Suman is one of the most popular Bengali singer composer of recent times. Many compare him with Bob Dylan. He has had ups and downs in his professional and personal life. But some of his songs are real gems, comparable to the best in any language across the world.
