Lanjigarh: Laying emphasis on the importance of saving electricity and becoming energy efficient, Vedanta Limited Lanjigarh observed the National Energy Conservation Day on 14th December within its plant premises. The unit observed the day with an oath for bringing a major cultural change by spreading awareness about energy saving among the employees and associate partners.
The campaign kicked off in the presence of senior management of the unit with an Energy march inside the plant premises involving around 300 employees of the company and its partner agencies. The inaugural ceremony of the campaign also included the plant’s vision for preserving energy and the approach to achieve the same. Taking the initiative further, company employees will reach out to neighbouring schools in the vicinity and sensitize students on the importance of energy conservation.
Present on the occasion were Mr. Jalaj Malpani – Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar- Head Production, Mr. BS Mund- Head CPP, Mr. Pravakar Rao – Head Engineering, Mr. Rajeev Ranjan – Head Security, Mr. Anil Rai – Head Commercial among other employees and partner agencies. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Malpani stressed upon how a common man can contribute towards the larger goal of energy self-sufficiency and benefits of its conservation for today’s and future generations. The program was coordinated by Mr. Sanjaya kumar Jena – Head Electrical maintenance along with his team members.
