Bhubaeswar: As a part of its CSR initiatives, the Aditya Birla Group company, Utkal Alumina International Ltd.,Doragudalaunched it’s tailoring training under “Project Kaushalya” at Paikakupakhal village recently. The training programme was jointly inaugurated by Mr. BirendraKarkara, General Manager of Regional Industries Centre, Rayagada and Mr. RadhakantaRautray, Director of State Bank Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Rayagada. Among others Mr. Shankar Naik, SamitiSabhya, Maikanch Gram Panchayat, Mr. Sabar, Inspector In-Charge of Andirakanch Police Station, Mr. Sushil Baroda, Industry Promotion Officer, RIC, Mr. Rakesh Mishra, AVP – Admn., CSR and Land & Legal and Mr. Siba Sankar Mahapatra, DGM-CSR of Utkal Alumina along with community leaders were also present. Total thirty female trainees from three different mines peripheral villages like Paikakupakhal, Karanjakupakhal and Lundrukana were also part of this programme.
Mr. Siba Mahapatra has focused more on quality and regularity of training during his address where as Mr. Rakesh Mishra assured all sorts of supports to be extended for self- employment of this tailoring trainees.
Mr. RadhakantaRautray informed about various types of skill building programmes imparted by their organization during his speech. He has appreciated this noble effort of Utkal Alumina and welcomed the villagers to be a part of this training programme.
Similarly Mr. BirendraKarkara explained regarding different schemes of RIC and encouraged the trainees to take tailoring as their profession. He has emphasized more on marketing and value addition of differenttailoring products.
Lastly Susant Kumar Dhal extended vote of thanks to the Guests, Community Leaders and trainees for their presence and valuable views during this occasion. The programme is implemented under the active guidance of Mr. N.Nagesh, Unit Head & President of Utkal Alumina & Mr. B.R.K.Padhi, Vice President of Baphlimali Mines. This function is effectively co-ordinated by Mr. Sukanta Mahapatra, Sudhir Nayak, Binod Pujari and Ms. Nirupama Barik of Utkal Alumina.
