Bhubaneswar: By adding another feather to its cap, the Aditya Birla Group Company, Utkal Alumina International Ltd (UAIL), has bagged the most prestigious Mahatma Award for excellence in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Liveweek in a glittering function organized at Gurgaon, Delhi on 1st October 2019. The award function has been organized to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. The award was received by Mr. Bipul Chatterjee, Head CSR – Hindalco, Mr. Gajendra Naik, Asst. Manager (CSR) and Mr. Kartikeswar Sahoo, Asst. Manager (CSR) from Padma Bhusan Mrs. Rajashree Birla in presence of Dr. Pragnya Ram, Group Executive President of Aditya Birla Group.
Utkal Alumina has been implementing a gamut of CSR projects on various sectors in the remote blocks of Kashipur in Rayagada district and T. Rampur in Kalahandi district. These interventions have brought visible changes in the lives of the people around which has received enough encomiums from the people, local govt and political representatives and the local intellegentia.
