One Day Football Tournament Organised by Adani Foundation

Basudevpur: Identifying and recognising the hidden talent of youth in education as well as sports of its periphery and Bhadrak and giving them the platform to exhibit their talent has been the focus of the foundation. To fulfil this, the foundation in collaboration with the village, block and district level organisations has been working since long.

Keeping this in view, the Foundation in collaboration with District Sports Office, Bhadrak has organized a district level football Tournament at Atal Bihari High School play ground, Basudevpur today. 8 teams viz; Roral Club – Chandbali, United Club – Charampa, Adampur Club – Bhandaripokhari, Adampur Sports Academy – Adampur, Bhagabati Club – Dhamnagar, Rovers Club – Puruna Bazar, Bhadrak, Town Club – Basudevpur and Chandbali Club – Chandbali of Bhadrak which were scrutinised by the District Sports Office, Bhadrak had participated in this day long day and night tournament.

The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Amitabh Bose, Senior Vice President,Adani Group in presence of District Sports Officer Mr. Manoj Kumar Das, Inspector Physical Education Mr. Gajendra Bharati, Ex-Inspector Physical Education Mr. Shyam Sundar Maharaj, Bhadrak along with other dignitaries of Basudevpur and Bhadrak. The Tournament was moderated by Mr. Jiban Jyoti Nayak, Mr. Jyoti Ranjan Swain, Mr. Sanjeev Das and Mr. Mikun Mohanty from Football Association of Odisha as match Referees.

The final match was played by United Club, Bhadrak and Adampur Sports Academy, Bhandaripokhari, Bhadrak. The United team won the tournament in 3-0 score and Adampur Sports Academy team stood as runners-up. Mr. Sk Suleman and Mr.Manoj Kumar Behera were awarded as the best player and best goal keeper of the tournament respectively. In the closing ceremony the winner, runner-up team, the best player and best goal keep were awarded with the trophy by Mr. Swapan Sundar Nayak, Working President, Basudevpur Town Club.
