Dhamra: ‘Onam’, the annual harvest festival of Malayalis, celebrated at Adani Dhamra Port Community hall with full pomp &show. According to legends, Onam is celebrated to honour the homecoming of the benevolent, King Mahabali. Officers & family members of port celebrated Onam with great enthusiasm.
“Joining the celebration, Subrat Tripathy, Chief Executive Officer spoke of the spirit of unity and oneness symbolized by Onam, and emphasized the country-ride celebrations of harvest festivals in India. People of all religions & castes celebrate such occasions, thereby strengthening the bonds of social harmony & cultural unity in our great Country”. On this occasion,people decorate their houses with pookalams – a decoration of flowers; wear new clothes, organize cultural programmes, get-togethers and enjoythis special feast – OnamSandhya. Cdr. Sunil Thomas, Head of Port Security and his team organized the event.
