Bhubaneswar: Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha unveiled the book, ‘Bus Pathsala’ on the occasion of second anniversary of MoBus on Friday. ‘Bus Pathsala’, is a compilation of five-week long virtual training sessions conducted by Capital Region Urban Transport during COVID pandemic on soft skills and technical skills. This is first of its kind publication by any public transport company in the country.
On this occasion, Sh. Patnaik, Hon’ble CM appreciated CRUT for taking the initiative for the training its crew and documenting its outcome. He congratulated the CRUT team on the second anniversary of Mo Bus and hoped that the venture will continue to serve the people with same spirit while maintaining the health guidelines for the pandemic.
The publication will be shared with various city and state transport corporations across the country. This initiative has been highly appreciated by Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASTRU), New Delhi.
With an intent to use the relatively lull period of pandemic to empower and develop skills CRUT decided to meaningfully engage staff in virtual training sessions This training program drew on both international and national experts who spoke on vital topics like crew motivation, driving skills, better maintenance practices, passenger friendly approaches, gender & public transport etc. The sessions were conducted in Hindi and Odia for better understanding. More than 1200 employees of CRUT and Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) participated in first of its kind virtual training session organised by a Public Transport Company in India.
On the occasion of the anniversary of Mo Bus, Mr Arun Bothra, Managing Director, CRUT thanked the commuters for their continued trust in the MoBus service. “The second year journey of Mo Bus was challenging as well as learning experience for CRUT team as we had to continue giving service in time of pandemic. We thank riders who have trusted in us from the beginning of service and continue to ride with us in the time of pandemic while following the safety protocols.”
Mr. Bothra thanked the Hon’ble CM for his continued support and guidance to CRUT. He said the CRUT team is very happy that Mo Bus has been able to realise the vision of the Hon’ble CM by providing a modern, eco-friendly and people friendly medium of transport for the capital region. He further added, “Even though at times the buses had lesser passengers yet the service continued non-stop as the main objective is providing service to the people and ensuring affordable transport solution.”
Meanwhile, CRUT introduced Tap & Pay smart card, ‘MoBus Card’ as a gift for MoBus commuters on the occasion of second anniversary. This new digital payment option will allow a hassle-free and risk-free travel for the commuter. To start with this facility will be available on Route 50 and Route 70.
