Odisha reports 297 new Covid-19 positive cases on Wednesday

Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 cases continued to surge in State with reporting of 297 new positive cases on Wednesday in 24 districts and the State pool, increasing the total tally to 34,0,917.

While the day’s figure was the highest in the last two months, the State has been reporting more than 200 cases for seven days in a row.Of the new cases, 174 cases were detected in quarantine centres while 123 were local contact cases.

Kalahandi district reported the day’s highest 57 cases followed by Sundargarh with 38, Khordha 33, Nuapada 31, Bargarh 18, Cuttack 17, Sambalpur 17 and Keonjhar 12.

Currently, the active cases stood at 2,013 and the cumulative samples tested were 90,43,972.However, 161 patients recovered on the day, taking the total recoveries to 33,7091 in the State.
