Bhubaneswar: At MSME Department, Government of Odisha’s workshop on ‘Export Strategy of Odisha’, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik hailed state’s export growth and initiatives being taken to promote ‘ease of doing business’. Highlights from his address at the event:
• Odisha registered significant growth in field of exports since 2001-02. From ₹563 crore in 2001-02, exports grew to to ₹1,982 crore in 2015-16
• A massive 114% growth was registered between 2015-16 and 2016-17; from ₹1,982 crore in 2015-16 to ₹40,872 crore in 2016-17
• Odisha Export Policy 2017 to be unveiled soon and all export related organizations to be brought under one roof for facilitating ‘Ease of Doing Business’
Chief Minister Shri Patnaik congratulated 19 exporters who were awarded for outstanding performance. He also congratulated five MSME entrepreneurs who are getting a subsidy of ₹5.8 crore under Odisha Food Processing Policy and 17 newly appointed Scientific Assistants. He wished all of them the best for the future.
