New Delhi: Odisha, Chhattisgarh officers meet in Delhi over Mahanadi water dispute in New Delhi on Monday.
“The officers and experts met under the direction of the Mahanadi Water Dispute Tribunal. Whatever results oriented from the discussion will be communicated to the tribunal only. Since it is court matter, I can’t reveal anything,” said Odisha Water Resources Secretary Pradeep Jena.
Notably, the tribunal had asked the two States to resolve the issue amicably or else it would make a judgment on March 9.
A three-judge Bench had on February 9 concluded the hearing in the interim application filed by Odisha seeking stay on the operation of barrages in Chhattisgarh and for ensuring minimum flow of 1.74 MAF during non-monsoon months, from November to May.
