Kaniha: “NTPC Utkarsh” Merit scholarship was given to meritorious school students and college students of Kaniha block by NTPC Talcher Kaniha in a special function held on December 27,2017.
Total 50 candidates received the scholarships. 44 toppers of 10 th Class Boards exams, 5 toppers of 12 th Boards exams and one topper B.Tech student under Kaniha block were provided with scholarship.
An amount of Rs.3,000/- to 10 th and 12 th class meritorious students was provided whereas the B .Tech student was given scholarship of Rs.90,000/-.
The scholarship was given by Shri K S Sarma,AGM(HR),NTPC Kaniha.While addressing the students on the occasion ,Shri Sarma said “future lies in your hands , you have to study hard to be successful , as a small help NTPC is providing finance assistance to encourage to achieve your goal and aspirations”.
The objective of the scholarship was to promote the poor and weaker section of the society and specially to motivate the girl students towards education for a better future ahead.
Other senior officials like Shri P K Sahu,DGM(HR),Shri A K Das,Sr Mgr (HR) graced the occasion and motivated the students. In this programme, students, teachers & guardians earmarked the scholarship scheme and appreciated the initiative of NTPC Kaniha towards education.
