Sambalpur: MCL is organising an interactive Training cum Workshop session on AEBAS ( Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System) from September 12th to 15th, 2017 at company headquarters, Sambalpur, aiming to replace its current register based manual attendance system. Rolled out and centrally maintained by National Informatics Center (NIC), based on Aadhaar based authentication of individual biometrics, AEBAS is a key component of the ambitious Digital India Programme of the Government of India.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri J.P. Singh, Director (Technical/Operation) and Shri L.N. Mishra, Director (Personnel) in presence of Shri KSA Selvan, Dy GM (Telecom) / AEBAS Nodal Officer, MCL and Sri Biranchi Das, Sr. Manager (Personnel), MCL.
Shri J. P. Singh and Sri L.N. Mishra emphasized the grass-root level implementation of the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System in all mines and other units of MCL, which is already in operation at MCL Headquarters and its Bhubaneswar Office. Both the Directors appreciated the initiative and the support provided by NIC, Bhubaneswar, and encouraged all the participants to implement and familiarize themselves with the system, which can prove to be a game changer in ensuring the punctuality of all employees.
MCL presently employs over 22000 regular and 15500 contractual employees, all of which are to be covered under this system. This shall not only prove to be another technological adoption of the rapidly modernizing company, but shall also help in ensuring about 3,00,000 man hours per day of operations by performing more than 75000 biometric authentications per day.
The interactive Training cum Workshop session is being conducted by AEBAS Team of NIC Odisha, headed by Sri A. K. Mohanty, Technical Director and AEBAS State Coordinator, Odisha, NIC, supported by Shri J. Mohanty, Technical Director, NIC. During the programme, the NIC Team interacted with all participants. It is worth mentioning that AEBAS NIC Bhubaneswar Team is providing all support to MCL for successful implementation of AEBAS across MCL since 2015.
