Sambalpur: Sri K.K.Parida, Director (Finance) who superannuated on 30.06.2017 was a given a very emotional farewell by all the Officers and staff of the company including Finance Executives from the fields.
Sri Parida in his farewell speech, thanked one and all for the co-operation received from all sections and expressed his firm belief that MCL would achieve greater heights in the coming future.
During his 3 years tenure as Director(Finance) of MCL, the company witnessed a rapid growth in profit to the tune of 6853.32 crores in 2016-17, a net worth of Rs 3385.38 crores , a dividend payout per share of Rs 21,115 with a total dividend payout of Rs 2982 crores leaving a book value per share of Rs 23971.26 against a face value of Rs 1000/-. His vital role in Cost Control and Budgetary Control saw a fall of Rs 17.72 per tonne in total cost over last year whereas the total contribution to the exchequer of the Central as well as State govt. rose from 9951.21 crores in 2015-16 to a whopping 13204.91crores in 2016-17.
He was also the Chairman of MJSJ, a JV company with Jindal & Shyam DRI and on the board of MCRL a joint venture with Railways as well as in MBPL, a 100% owned subsidiary of MCL, formed to set up a 2×800 MW super critical Thermal Power Plant.
In recognition of his acumen and adept handling of Finance, Sri Parida was recognized as Most Influential CFOs of India in 2015 by “India’s Greatest” and conferred with the Living Legend Award by Orissa Diary in 2016.
In their farewell speech, Sri L.N.Mishra, Director(Personnel) and Sri O.P.Singh, Director(Technical) expressed the great loss of a friend, philosopher and guide on the superannuation of Sri Parida, both to the company and to its employees.
Sri A.K.Jha, CMD, MCL , Sri J.P.Singh, DT and Sri Munavar Khursheed ,CVO, MCL all of whom who were away from HQRS expressed similar sentiments over telephone.
Alongwith Sri Parida, MCL also bid farewell with a heavy heart to Sri M.V.Daniel, HOD Legal who superannuated the same day.
