Madhya Pradesh alert for third wave, says CM Chouhan

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the government is fully alert and aware about the possible third wave of Corona. He called upon the people of the state not to be careless towards Corona, Corona has not gone yet. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the effect of Corona infection has reduced considerably. Keeping this in view, relaxation has been given in many areas, but we have to adopt Covid appropriate behaviour with caution.

20 new positive cases

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that at present the number of active Corona cases in the state is 253. Today on July 15, 20 new positive cases have been reported and the positivity rate is 0.02 percent. Today, 36 patients were discharged after recovery and 76 thousand 201 tests have been conducted in the state. As many as 1687 fever clinics are active in the state. Tele-consultation was provided to 51 thousand 94 patients on helpline numbers 104 and 181.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in view of the impending third wave, medical infrastructure is being improved in the state with rapid expansion of health facilities. Oxygen plants are being set up to ensure availability of oxygen especially along with increasing the number of ICU beds in hospitals.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that oxygen plants have been started in many districts under the action plan prepared for supply of oxygen in all the districts of the state. National level companies and social workers of the state have contributed a lot in this work along with the administration. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the campaign which has been started to make Madhya Pradesh self-sufficient in terms of oxygen production, will continue. We will ensure that oxygen is available in all hospitals for the treatment of patients.

Arrangement of necessary equipment

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has said that adequate arrangements for beds, medicines, oxygen, CT scan, ICU, PICU, doctors, staff etc. are being ensured for the possible third wave of Corona in the state. At present, more than 68 thousand beds have been identified in Madhya Pradesh for the treatment of Corona, out of which 54 thousand are in government and more than 13 thousand in private hospitals. Under these, 4 thousand beds are identified in private medical colleges. A total of 31 thousand 11 beds are marked in government and private hospitals under Ayushman Yojana. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that a detailed protocol guideline for the treatment of infants has been issued in the state after a thorough study by an experts’ committee. Instructions have also been issued for the parents to stay in the wards with their children.
