Angul : Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) observed Shri Om Prakash Jindal’s 88th Birth Anniversary today with several social welfare programmes. Led by Executive Director (I/c) and Location Head of the Angul, unit of JSPL Mr. Atul Misra, all the senior officials and employees of JSPL with their family members and people from the local community paid their floral tribute to the founder of OP Jindal Group, respectfully called as Bauji by one and all.
On this occasion a voluntary Blood Donation Camp, organised by JSPL Foundation, was also inaugurated by Mr. Atul Misra, in presence of Mrs. Anjali Misra, President Jindal Mahila Samiti; Mr. Damodar Mittal, EVP-Phase 1B; Brig. K.K. Chopra; Mr. S.K. Sharma, VP-CSR&R; Mr. Alok Malhotra, Head (HR&ES); Swami Satyabindu Saraswati and other officials of the Company. Total 96 units of blood were collected in this camp.
To mark the occasion, O.P. Jindal Angul Cup Football tournament, organised by JSPL Foundation, was inaugurated at Angul Stadium by Mr. Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, (IPS), Angul Superintendent of Police. Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sahu (District Sports Officer, Angul), Mr Prasanta Kumar Sinha, Inspector of Physical Education, Angul and Mr. Nilamani Rout, Secretary of Angul Sub Division Athletic Association were present on the occasion. Mr. S.K. Sharma, (VP & Head – CSR&R) and Mrs. Puspalata Satapathy, GM-CSR of JSPL graced the opening ceremony as Guest-of-Honour. Total 12 teams from different parts of Odisha are participating in this state level football tournament.
Two scholarship programme – OP Jindal Star and OP Jindal Jewel – were also launched by JSPL Foundation for economically weaker meritorious students from the vicinity area of JSPL’s operations across India.
The inter-departmental Foot-ball gala of JSPL known as Futsal-2018 was also inaugurated at Jindal Nagar. This was followed by a Bhajan Sandhya, organised at the Devbhoomi Temple. All the inhabitants of Jindal Nagar and people from the periphery village participated in the Bhajan Sandhya and prayed for the noble soul.
Similarly, the staff members and students of DAV-Savitri Jindal School situated at Badamahitala R&R colony also paid their homage to Shri OP Jindal by performing a Hawan and puja. The Teachers and Students of O.P. Jindal School at Jindal Nagar and OPJCC at Angul also paid their respect to the revered soul.
At Bhubaneswar, all the staff members paid their floral tribute to Shri OP Jindal in a special gathering. The Foundation also distributed sweets among Children of the distressed psychiatric women at ‘Mission Ashra’ in the City.
