JSPL celebrates 70th Republic Day

 

Angul: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) celebrated the 70th Republic Day on Saturday with pomp and fervour at the O.P. Jindal School ground in Jindal Nagar, Angul. The celebration commenced with unfurling of the National Flag by JSPL’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mr. Pankaj Gautam, in presence of Executive Director Maintenance Mr. Suresh Kumar, EVP Iron Making Zone Mr. Damodar Mittal with various other guests and HoDs of all other departments.

On this occasion Mr. Pankaj Gautam, read out the message of JSPL’s Chairman Mr. Naveen Jindal, to the gathering. In his message on the 70th Republic Day, Mr Naveen Jindal has greeted each and every Indian and invoked the Citizens to express their solidarity for the cause of the Nation under the Tiranga, our National Flag. Mr Jindal gave a clarion call to the Citizens to rededicate them-selves for Nation building. “Today as a Citizen of the greatest democracy in the world, we must prove our self as a powerful force striving for universal values and ideals those are contributing to global peace, friendship and progress. May India be glorious and let us work for the prosperity and unity of our country through peace and progress”. Mr Jindal said in his Republic Day Message.

Mr. Pankaj Gautam, also greeted everyone on this occasion and inspected the Guard of Honor from the women regiment of the Security Forces. “The women regiment is as unique as women military and paramilitary forces of our nation and we are trying our best to improve the number of women security personal in our company to give more empowerment and protection to the Women of our country, said JSPL’s Chief Security Officer Mr. Sushil Kumar Lodhi.

Thousands of employees with their family members, school students with staff members of O.P. Jindal School (OPJS), DAV Savitri Jindal School and the local community from the periphery villages joined the grand celebration to celebrate the 70th Republic Day.

The gathering also witnessed various patriotic and cultural programmes performed by OP Jindal High School and DAV-Savitri Jindal High-School students. Mr. Chhanda Charan Das, Principal O.P. Jindal School accorded the Vote of thanks on this occasion.

On this occasion JSPL Foundation has also distributed 22,300 sweets packets among children of 73 schools and 85 Anganwadi centers situated across 19 Panchayats of Angul.

In similar patriotic jest and spirit, the National Flag was also unfurled at JSPL’s Bhubaneswar Corporate office by Mr. Prasha Hota, EVP and JSPL’s Group Head CSR and Sustainability and Head odisha Corporate Communication in the presence of all employees and support staff. Mr Hota read out the message of Mr Naveen Jindal, Chairman of JSPL and inspired the employees to emulate the patriotic values, professed by the JSPL and it’s young leader Mr Naveen Jindal. Mr Shankar P Singh, Head of Odisha office of JSW also spoke on the occasion and focused upon the Unity in Diversity of India.

The Republic Day was also celebrated at Dav-Savitri Jindal School, O.P. Jindal Community College, Angul and Shramik Vihar, where Mr. Satyabrata Mohapatra, AVP-CCD and Mr. Ashish Ranjan Mohanty, DGM-HR&ES hoisted the National Flags and addressed the gathering respectively. JSPL also participated at the District level Republic Day celebration program with a decorative Tableau at Angul stadium.
