Report by Kahnu Nanda, Paradip: The prestigious 20th Inter Refineries Sports meet was concluded at Paradip Refinery , Shri SM Vaidya, Director Refineries, IndianOil, was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering he congratulated to all the winners and said sports is about competitiveness and passion to win. He further added, the energy and passion are to be translated into work front for meeting new business challenges. Shri TDVS Gopalakrishna in his address congratulated the participants and mentioned that every player is an ambassador of his/her unit. The sport event was kicked off with torching of light on 22nd Feb’2020, on august presence of Shri VK Shukla, ED I/c Human Resource, Refineries Headquarter, Shri TDVS Gopalakrishna, Executive Director & Refinery Head, Paradip Refinery, Shri RC Upadhyay, ED (HR) and other senior officials of IndianOil. The two day sport carnival, witnessed total 15 events comprising Table Tennis, Badminton and Lawn tennis, participation of 183 players, 248 matches, 60 medalist. Team of Refinery Head Quarter, New Delhi emerged as the Tournament champion. IndianOil has always been an avid proponent of sports and in recent past been conferred with ACES award as best PSU/Corporate house for promotion of sports and sport stars. IndianOil organizes such sports events for its employees at different refineries on rotation basis to promote the sports culture across the organization. The closing of the event had a cultural program of Odissi dance showcasing Orissa’s culture and art which enthralled the players and the audience alike. All the participants coming from different corners of India had praised the place Paradip, its scenic beauty and its golden sea beach.
