Bhubaneswar: Recently National Trust, an unit of Govt. of India have launched an INCLUSIVE INDIA campaign to aware people for the rights of differently abled people in education, employment & social life.
SSEPD Department, Govt of Odisha, WE4YOU & IHS jointly promoting this campaign in Bhubaneswar. There was a tabloid decorated on a truck with pics of different issues of disability. This truck moved around Bhubaneswar on 11th-12th-13th August. This campaign created awareness in different school, colleges, corporate & crowded places like park, shopping malls etc.
11th august, Friday, being the 1st day of the campaign, it started from BJB Autonomous College. Hundreds of students have attended the event. Then it moved to Rajadhani College, baramunda and to Tcube Software Company & atlast we ended up with another campaign at info city Patia. More than 3000 people have witnesses the campaign on Friday.
WE4YOU organised many events based on disability theme like being blindfolded cross a line, beat the drum, do something without using hand etc etc. 20 autistic kids from an Bhubaneswar based organisation have also joined the campaign during activities at Tcube. They have enjoyed a lot a event called eat a hanging Jalebi by jumping. The autistic kids also participated in blindfolded competition.
On the 2nd day of the event the campaign started from SIRIPUR SEBASHRAM SCHOOL. More than 200 students have joined the campaign & participated in different activities. They made pyramid in blindfolded time. They also use their mouth to fill a bottle with full of coins.
Next it moved to RAJADHANI COLLEGE, Bhubaneswar. More than 500 students have gathered near the truck & Participated in activities. Few blind people also Participated in these activities there. Few girls made ponytails of boys being blindfolded. They all felt what disability is. What is blindness & what is being a person without hand & legs. The volunteers made them understood the importance of this campaign.
The campaign ended up with activities at Aditya Hyundai Tamando. 260+ staffs of Aditya Hyundai have joined in this campaign & they also knew the importance of this campaign.
On the last day i.e Sunday, the campaigned moved few sports clubs, shopping malls like pantaloons, BMC Bhawani mall & market building etc spreading the awareness. With thin these three days SSEPD department, Govt of Odisha, WE4YOU & IHS covered many areas of Bhubaneswar and touched almost 15000 people to aware them for the rights of differently abled people in education, employment & social life.
