Bhubaneswar: Paradeep Pellet facility of Essar Steel India Limited (EStIL), received the Kalinga Safety Excellence Award for the year 2018 in silver category at the Odisha State Safety Conclave (OSSC)-2019, held at Bhubaneswar.
Sri TS Shanbhogue, Executive Director, Essar Steel India Limited, Odisha Operation received the award from Sri Pradeep Kumar Jena, Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Special Relief Commissioner & MD, OSDMA, Government .of Odisha in presence of Sri Niranjan Sahoo, IAS, Labour Commissioner cum Director of Factories & Boilers, GoO and Sri Debabrata Panigrahi, CEO, Institute of Quality and Environment Services (IQEMS) for the exemplary efforts in maintaining best safety practices at the Pellet plant in Paradeep.
Dr Kiran Kanti Panda, Head- HSE, EStIL, Odisha Operation received “ Best Safety Officer Award” at the glittering ceremony for having exceptional achievement in the field of Safety for the calendar year 2018. Dr. Panda made a presentation during the Safety Conclave. The paper presented was on a Case Study pertaining to Fire in the 40/50MVA Power Transformer of Pellet Plant, Paradeep.
The conclave was organized by IQEMS in collaboration with Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad and Odisha State Productivity Council, Bhubaneswar (OSSPCB). This award was given for best practices and excellence in the field of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) for the year 2018.
