Enchanting Abhinayas Engrossed The Audiences At The International Odissi Dance Festival

Bhubaneswar: The 4th Day of International Odissi Dance Festival organised by GKCM Odishi Research Centre under the aegis of Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture at Utkal Rangamancha, Bhubaneswar. The festival showcased varied aspects of Odissi repertoire through the young, legendary, established and senior dancers of repute in one platform who enthralled the audience by their splendid performances. The aim of organisation of this festival is to experience the beauty and grace of Odissi Dance presented by the dancers from across the globe. The dance programme was live streaming in GKCM Odissi Research Centre Facebook page and Youtube channel.

Morning session dance programme started at 10.00 AM, some brilliant performances by Sudhashree Priyadarshini (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Devi Kumar Pradhan (Solo) from Ganjam, Asibaran Biswas & Mansi Chakraborty (Duet) from Kolkata, Subhasish Acharaya (Solo) from Kolkata, Pinakini Nayak (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Subhrakanta Pradhan (Solo) from Puri, Aditi Pradhan (Solo) from Kolkata, Amrit Anand Khandual & Jagyanseni Sahoo (Due) from Jagtsinghpur, Lijarani Nayak (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Anuska Das & Alisha Dhal (Duet) from Rourkela and the last item was Group dance by the dancers from Omkar Kalashrama from Bhubaneswar was made tremendously.

The afternoon session was started at 4.00 PM and continued till 6.00 PM. The first item was group dance performance by Odissi Ashram from Kolkata followed by Archana Pathi (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Sandita Kumari (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Aliva Prusty & Argharupa Rout (Duet) from Bhubaneswar, Chandrima Dey (Solo) from Jalpaiguri, Adyasha Mishra (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Diptimayee Das & Indrani Haldar (Duet) from Cuttack, Binayak Samal (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Bipanchi Das (Solo) from Bhubaneswar and the last programme was group dance by Odissi Nrutyamandal from Cuttack.

The evening session started with the solo performance by Kasturi Pattnaik from New Delhi followed by Moumita Ghosh (Solo) from New Delhi, Sagarika Parida (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Pabitra Pradhan & Sridutta Bhol (Duet) from Bhubaneswar, Dibyashree Panda (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Anwesha Mohanty (Solo) from Surat, Swarnanki Das & Suhani Pradhan (Duet) from Bhubaneswar, Aiswarya Mohanty (Solo) from Bhubaneswar, Subhashree Priyadarshini (Solo) from Australia and the last dance item was group dance by Gujan Dance Academy from Cuttack led by Guru Meera Das.

The fourth evening of the festival was inaugurated by Rina Mohapatra, Additional Secretary, Tourism Department; Manaswani Sahoo, Additional Secretary, OLL & C; Arun Behera, ADM, Bhubaneswar; Dr. Sangita Gosain, Chief Executive, GKCM Odissi Research Centre and the programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp. The programme was compared by Dr. En. Srinivas Ghatuari.
