Bhadrak: Dhamra Port Horticulturist Asit Kumar Dash died in a road accident on 18th Oct. 2017. The accident happened on the Howrah-Chennai (NH-5) highway around 7.15 PM, port official told the media here.
“He was returning to Dhamra Port after completing some official work. He is just crossing the road, one Pulsar bike with two person lost control and hit the officer,” Public told. Instantly the public informed to Fire brigade who shifted to District Hospital Bhadrak where the Medical Officer declared him dead. Asit died instantly while one of the biker injured critically and forwarded to SCB Medical College at Cuttack. Other person was escaped with the bike from the spot.
On 19th morning after post mortem, the dead body was carried to Swargadwar, Puri for funeral. During the funeral all near & dears of family members, Dhamra Port officials, friends and others paid tribute to the departed person before the mortal remains were consigned to flame.
FYI Asit, 40, was a permanently resident of Jagamara, Bhubaneswar but recently lived with his family in Dhamra port quarter inside the port premises. Before joining Dhamra Port he worked for Jindal Stainless for a period of more than eight years as horticulturist.
