Rajgangpur: Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited and NABARD today kick-started a skill training program for the youth of Sundargarh district. With an aim to make the local youth employable, 60 boys and girls from Rajgangpur and Lanjiberna area have been enrolled in the first phase of the training programme.
Mr. Shakti Prasanna Mahapatra from NABARD, Sundargarh graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with Mr. Lokesh Kumar Bahety, Unit Head, DCBL Rajgangpur and Mr. Saroj Kumar Rout, Head – Mines, Lanjibarna Limestone Mines as Guests of honour.
Chief guest Shri Mahapatra congratulated the 60 youth for their hard work, dedication and zeal to move towards a bright future. Mr. Rout said youth of the region should solve the widening unemployment problem of Sundargarh district by joining such skill training programmes.
The enrolled youth will be trained in Assistant Electrician and CRM Domestic Non Voice trades at Rajgangpur center of Dalmia Bharat Foundation’s Dalmia Institute of Knowledge and Skill Harnessing (DIKSHa). Duration of the training programme is 3 months.
More than 250 local youth have already completed skill training at the Rajgangpur DIKSHa center. Majority of the same have got placed post completion of their respective training programme. Dalmia Bharat Foundation, which believes in making local youth employable is the best way to fight against unemployment, has 5 more placement-linked skill centers spread across Odisha at Rourkela, Deogarh, Cuttack, Jajpur and Jharsuguda. Youth are trained in various trades here including bed-side attendants, retail sales assistant, electrician, beauty and wellness and sewing machine operator.
