Bhubaneswar: The Odisha CSR Forum, a non-profit, non-political registered trust, engaged in promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Odisha today organized a CSR Conclave and a state level seminar on “CSR & Inclusive Growth” in association with The Tata Power Company Limited in Hotel New Marrion, Janpath, Bhubaneswar.
Sri Ashok Chandra Panda, Honorable Minister, Tourism & Odia Language, Literature & Culture, Govt. of Odisha graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the seminar. During his address, he lauded the efforts & activities of Odisha CSR Forum for the inclusive growth and inclusive development of Odisha. Sri Ardhendu Sarangi, IAS(Retd.), Former Chief Secretary & DG of Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Justice Bimal Prasad Das, Former Judge of Orissa High Court were present as Guest of Honor.
As a part of the seminar, two panel discussions on “Natural Resource Management and Environment Sustainability” AND “Women Empowerment in India – Issues, Challenges and Strategies” were held. Additionally, a number of Corporate made presentation about their innovative CSR Initiatives & Practices for the benefits of the delegates. 130 delegates from Corporate, reputed NGOs, Educational Institutions, Civil Society Organizations, Thinker & Decision Makers, Environmentalists, Administrators, Judges, Development Sectors, Economists & Agriculturists participated in this seminar.
Speaking on this occasion, Sri B.K.Mishra, Convener of the Odisha CSR Forum said that the main objective of this seminar is to facilitate learning & sharing each others’ experience & expertise apart from show casing various CSR activities that have tremendous social impact. He further said that our efforts would positively generate a sense of new leadership and achievements among corporations that would lead to continuously re-defined, re-orient and launch path breaking schemes and projects relevant to the area and the people. Our collective and innovative efforts have been reconized in Odisha & elsewhere for which we are proud of.
Sri Vijayant Ranjan, CEO, Industrial Energy Ltd, Sri Hansda, Head of IEL, Kalinga Nagar and Sri Dillip Sahoo, Head-CSR, The Tata Power Company Ltd. were present. Ms Chandini Rout of IEL and Mrs Shuchismita Mishra of CSR Forum anchored the program while Sri Sukant Patnaik, Co – Convener of the forum proposed the vote of thanks.
