New Delhi: BJD MP Achyuta Samanta has demanded Central University status to the Utkal University. He was participating in a debate on Motion of Thanks to President’s Address in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.Besides, the Kandhamal MP demanded a second Central University in a tribals-dominated district of Odisha.
If the Centre cooperates in making the Utkal University a Central University, Odisha would set an example in the field of education in the country, he said.
Dr Samanta also demanded that Odisha be given a special focus on natural disasters and provided special assistance in dealing with such devastation.
