The firm operates a world-class alumina refinery plant at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district in Odisha. Vedanta’s vision is to strengthen Lanjigarh unit as a self-sustained manufacturing unit displaying the highest standards of operational excellence and efficiency. The Lanjigarh unit even boasts of a gender-diverse employee base. Almost 20% of its employees are women. This is substantially more than the 5% average of the manufacturing sector.
Recently, Vedanta Aluminium has become the highest ever producer of the metal in India with 1.95 MT of production and Vedanta’s Lanjigarh unit has been instrumental in making this happen.

It was the first English medium in the region and majority of the students are first-generation learners from the local community. Our state-of-the-art Vedanta Hospital has touched more than 4 lakh lives and made healthcare accessible and affordable for the people of the region. We have embraced artisans to support them in reviving the traditional Dhokra art and Saura art forms and nurture it in a way that it becomes a viable avenue of livelihood for them.
