Alliance Air says goodbye to Single Use Plastic

New Delhi: Alliance Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India Limited has bid adieu to single use plastic across its entire network effective 1st October 2019.The airline has banned all single use plastic products to beat plastic pollution.

Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had urged shunning of single plastic use in his Independence Day speech. In alignment to his vision of a plastic free India Alliance Air has taken strong measures to reduce single use plastic footprints across its network.

Complimentary Vegetarian snacks served in Alliance Air flights will be wrapped in butter paper instead of Cling foils. Beverages will be served in sturdy paper cups to reduce plastic litter. Fruit Basket will be made of hard bound paper. Also the covering of eatables is going to be done using aluminum foil. Crew Meal Cutlery will be replaced with eco friendly wooden cutlery.

Further to this initiative, the management is also encouraging innovative ideas to promote use of eco friendly products and has pledged never using single use plastic ever again.
