Bhubaneswar: As a part of its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives, the Aditya Birla Group company Aditya Aluminium has taken one step in the area of women empowerment by imparting training and rendering financial support to the 14 women members of the SHG (Self Help Group) in Lapanga Block in the Sambalpur district in Odisha. Very recently, the company has provided an assistance of Rs 10000/- to each women. The company too imparted them adequate training which will enable them to be self sufficient. The financial assistance in terms of Cheques were handed over to the women beneficiaries by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aditya Aluminium, Mr Bibhu Mishra. Addressing the gathering , Mr Mishra said that, during last four years the women folk of our company periphery has come foreword and have made remarkable progress in improving their status and becoming self sufficient. The company has already trained 300 women members of the SHGs and around 120 women have been earning handsomely out of their mixture making, phenyl making business, Mr Mishra added. He also said that women are also being imparted training on various livelihood promotion activities like vegetable cultivation, mushroom cultivation, managing grocery shops etc which will enable them to be self sufficient. The company too is providing financial support which will certainly support them to take their business ahead; he added and wished the women folk good luck in their future.
Among others, Mrs Lopa Mishra and Mr Manoranjan Behera of the CSR Department were present on the occasion and coordinated the entire event.
