Bhubaneswar: With an objective to promote the women SHGs of the district, one mega loan mela (Fair) was being organized very recently by the Aditya Birla Group company, Aditya aluminum, Lapanga in coordination with the Odisha livelihood mission, Sambalpur. The objective of the program was to support the SHGs entrepreneurs and to facilitate credit linkages with banks. After scrutiny, feasible business proposals would be recommended to bank by the Block Development Officer (BDO), Rengali. The Loan Mela (Loan Fair) was organized at Dhorropani where Odisha Livelihood Mission (OLM) representative and ORMAS CEO, Mr. Srimanta Hota facilitated the program and narrated the criteria and role of OLM on the socio-economic empowerment of women through SHG & providing loans with minimum rate of interest so that the SHG members avail the benefits. This fair witnessed a gathering of 285 members from 40 SHGs.
In another development, going in line with the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Kaushal Vikash Yojana or Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kausalya Yojana of the Government, one Skill Development Training and Placement programme was organized by the company under CSR Sustainable Livelihood Program in coordination with DRDA (Distt. Rural Development Agency) Sambalpur. The program was organized at the same Dhorropani village; where 55 nos of Youth had participated and enrolled. The program was facilitated by Mr. Vivekananda Panda of CTRT (Central Tool Room & Training Centre) & Mr. Srimant Hota of ORMAS. In both the programmes, on behalf of Aditya Aluminum Mrs Sweta Upadhyaya and Mr. Manoranjan Behera were present in the event and made the programmes successful.
