Adani Skill Development Centre receives the ICC Social Impact Award

Dhamra: Adani Skill Development Centre received the Special Jury Recognition Award at the Indian Chamber of Commerce Social Impact Awards in Kolkata today.

The Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) is one of the first skill imparting institutes in the country to offer innovative and unique courses like simulator-based crane operation, 3D printing, and welding through Augmented Reality.

The hands-on skilling programmes enjoy a placement ratio of 70 per cent, and encourage entrepreneurship. Besides offering training in 34 government courses, these centres also provide skill-based training in 11 ASDC-customised programmes.

Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson, Adani Foundation, said, “Adani Skill Development Centre is not just skilling the youth of India but also giving them confidence to grow in every aspect of their lives. We are creating a pool of job seekers and potential entrepreneurs by imparting training in various technical and non-technical skills. I am glad that our endeavours have been recognised by the prestigious Indian Chamber of Commerce.”

Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) competed with 20 other final nominations to win the Award under the Employment Enhancing Vocational Skills in Medium Project Category. Mr. Jatin Trivedi, Head, Skill Development, Adani Foundation, received the award on behalf of Adani Foundation.

Dr. Shashi Panja, Minister of State, Department of Women Development and Social Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal was the chief guest at the ICC Social Impact Awards. The Indian Chamber of Commerce is one of the most prestigious and the premier body of business and industry in Eastern and North-Eastern India.

The Adani Skill Development Centres follow the National Skill Development Centre guidelines. The skilling programmes aim to train more than 20,000 youth every year. Through ASDC, Adani Foundation aims to train and create job opportunities for 300,000 people by 2022.

Currently there are more than 60 centres functioning across India offering skill training in 40 trades.
