Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the work of procurement of wheat is going on fast in the state. So far, out of 20 lakh farmers registered for procurement in the state, 5 lakh 65 thousand farmers have sold 28 lakh metric tonnes of wheat at support price. Payment of about Rs two thousand crore rupees have also been made to the farmers. Shri Chouhan was reviewing the wheat procurement work through a video conference in Mantralaya.
Record procurement of 3.18 lakh MT wheat in a day
Principal Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla has informed that today 58,000 farmers have sold the maximum of 3 lakh 18 thousand MT wheat on support price, which is a record pocurement. Fifty percent farmers have sold their wheat on support price in Hoshangabad, Guna, Harda and Khandwa districts. Eighty percent of the procured wheat has been transported also.
Payment made to hammals and tulawatis
The Chief Minister said that information has been received that in some places payment has not been made to hammals and tulawatis. In this regard, it should be ensured that timely payment is made to them.
