UDAAN holds first ever first ever OBL- 2017Auction ceremony in Bhubaneswar

 

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to popularize the game of badminton in the state and to groom the budding badminton players for future tournaments, UDAAN (Ultimate Dynamic Ambitious Academy of Nation) under the aegis of Odisha State Badminton Association will organize first-ever Odisha Badminton League from 6th to 8th October at Railway Indoor Stadium, Mancheswar.

A player auction ceremony was recently held at a city-based hotel in which 8 franchisee teams namely Lakshya Lancers, Bhubaneswar Fighters, G Group Guardians, Green Star Acers, GCZ Challengers, SN Blasters, Kalinga Kings and Utkal Warriors took part in the auction process along with their respective team managers and captains.

Sr Sanjay Mohanty, organising Secretary, UDAAN said, ” the main objective of organising OBL match is to extend support the the talented badminton players in the state who are not coming limelight because of various socio-economic hindrances”.

The auction ceremony was graced by veteran football coach Nanda Kishore Patnaik, former Indian women’s football team captain Sradhanjali Samantaray, national karate champion Valena Valentina, world para-badminton champion Pramod Bhagat, President of Odisha Badminton League Ashok Mishra, tournament referee Rita Dash and Organizing Secretary, UDAAN Sanjay Mohanty.
