JSPL Observes World Blood Donors Day, 43 units of blood collected

Angul : On the occasion of World Blood Donors Day Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) in association with the Odisha Blood Bank, Angul organised a voluntary blood donation camp at its plant premises in Angul today. JSPL’s officers and workers came forward to donate their blood generously. Total 43 units of blood were collected in the camp.

On this occasion, the Chairman of JSPL Mr. Naveen Jindal, also reached out to mass through various social networking sites and thanked the blood donors. He also requested others to donate blood generously.

“Volunteer blood donors are the silent supporters of humanity and I really appreciate them for their generous attitude. JSPL always encourages such kind of social activities and volunteer blood donation is a part of corporate culture at JSPL, said the Chief Operating Officer of JSPL Mr. Pankaj Gautam.

District Blood Bank Officer Dr. Biswajeet Samal, has also appreciated the efforts of JSPL and said “Safe blood is an important factor in saving precious lives. Collection of these 43 blood units, especially in summer, would be very helpful to save several lives”.

Apart from this occasion, JSPL also organizes two more volunteer blood donation camps at its premises every year to contribute to the blood requirement of Angul District Blood bank. So far JSPL has provided more than 1000 blood units by organizing such camps at regular interval.

Dr. Krushna Prasad Behera, Chief Medical Officer of JSPL and Mrs. Puspalata Satapathy, GM-CSR and other departmental heads actively participated with their respective team to maximize the number of volunteer blood donors to cater the blood requirement in this scorching summer.
