Sukinda: Indian Metal Ferro Alloys Ltd. (IMFA) has installed automated wheel washing system at Sukinda Mines Chromite and Mahagiri Mines Chromite. This is the first of its kind machine was installed by IMFA in order to safeguard environment hazards at mining operation area in sukinda.
This new technique will help in minimising generation of air borne dust in the mines area and its surrounding villages. Generally the mineral carrying trucks carry large amount of dust and sludge stuck to their wheels while transporting chromite ore from mines. This dust spreads on the roads creats air pollution. This innovated wheel washing will system will control this pollution.
Smt Kalpana Jena, Sarapanch Kaliapani has expressed her satisfaction over IMFA for taking unique step in minimising pollution in the mining area.
