Bhubaneswar: With the various demands like profitable support price for all agricultural produces, to take appropriate majors to prevent farmers suicide and waive off agricultural loans a mass protest has beeb organised today by the call of Bhumi Adhikar Andolan, Odisha. The various peasants and mass organisations like All India Kishan Sabha, Odisha Krusak Sabha, Chasi Mulia Sangh, All India Krantikari Krusak Sabha, All India Agragami Krusak Sabha, Odisha Khet Majdoor Union, All India People’s Forum, Indian Social Action Forum(INSAF), Lokshakti Abhijan, Odisha Adivasi Adhikar Manch, Campaign for Survival & Dignity and others has been participated at this protest under the banner of Bhumi Adhikar Andolan, Odisha.
The Mass Dharana(Protest) was presided by Com. Jagannath Mishra and various mass leaders like Tapan Upadhhya, Jameswar Samantray, Srikant Mohanty, Radhakant Sethi, Sankar Sahu, Narendra Mohanty, Jyoti Ranjan Mohapatra, Abhiram Behera , Suresh Panigrahi, Sisir Kumar Hui, Pramod Rath, Mahendra Parida, Tapan Mishra, Sala Marndi, Bansidhar Parida, Chamburu Soren, Dr. Sricharan Behera ,Tusharkant and others addressed on the occasion. A five member delegation team submitted memorandum to the Chief Minister of Odisha. 10 lakhs compensation to all farmers who committed suiside, to give Rs. 3000/- minimum profitable price for Paddy, to construct cold store and manage through cooperative societies was other demands raised by the protesters.
