Udaipur: Hindustan Zinc celebrated National Road Safety week from 8th-14th January 2018 to create awareness on road safety rules such as traffic lights, speed limits, pedestrian rules to name a few. The event saw participation of senior management of Hindustan Zinc, employees of Hindustan Zinc and their families.
During the week, various initiatives like Poster making, Quiz completion, Nukkad Natak, ROKO-TOKO Abhiyaan, Road Shows & Rally, Awareness sessions and Rangoli competition were organised on the theme of “Avoid Over-Speeding – Prevent Accidents”.
At Chanderiya Smelting Complex, a Bike Road Show was organised to create awareness on Road Safety and Traffic Regulations. The Road Show was highly praised by District Collector, Shri Narayan Singh Charan. The bikers of the Road Show spread the message of importance of Crash Helmets and Safety Belts for personal safety.
Dariba Smelting Complex witnessed the participation of employees as well as children and ladies during the Road Safety Week. A special rally by students of DAV school was organised from DAV school premises to Truck Parking Yard of Dariba Smelting Complex. Children recited various slogans and Jingles to create Road Safety awareness during the rally. A Rangoli Competition was also organised by ladies club on Road Safety theme.
At Rampura Agucha Mines, 5000 crash helmets were distributed to employees & contract workforce by safety department during the Road Safety Week and various awareness sessions on theme “Avoid Over-Speeding – Prevent Accidents” were also conducted.
Head CC, Pavan Kaushik said, “Safety beyond the premises is as important as safety inside the premises. We need to change our behaviour towards safety. Being a Socially responsible company, Hindustan Zinc is reaching out to employees along with their families and school students through various interactions at the units”.
Being Safe session is one such interactive session by Hindustan Zinc program to reduce the mind stress of the employees and bring in a sense of realization of Being Safe for their own-self and for their families. The participants in the workshop takes oath of following the path of Being Safe and to make it a habit while working in the plant and outside too.
