Recruitment Alert: NPCIL Recruiting through GATE 2019

 

The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is going to recruit engineering graduates for the post of Executive Trainee (ET-2019) through the GATE 2019. The recruitment notification has been released by NPCIL on the official website of the organization. Engineering graduates from disciplines like Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil and Instrumentation can apply for the post, given that they have a valid GATE 2019 score.

This Government of India enterprise is under the Department of Atomic Energy. The NPCIL is responsible for development, operation and maintenance of nuclear power reactors in India. According to the notification, NPCIL will start the registration process for the recruitment drive within 10 days from the official date of GATE 2019 result declaration. The detailed advertisement including the number of vacancies will also be shared on the website, post GATE result.

Not only NPCIL, many other PSUs like ONGC, POSCOCO and HPCL are recruiting engineers through GATE scores. In the last few years. GATE is a nationwide competitive examination conducted by any one of the IITs, for engineering, technology, architecture and science graduates willing to pursue Masters or Doctoral studies in various disciplines at IITs and other participating institutes. Off-late many government organizations and PSUs prefer to recruit through GATE scores, instead of a common written test for PSU recruitment that was conducted before.

GATE 2019 will be conducted by IIT Madras. The registration process for GATE 2019 is going on and candidates can apply until 21st September 2018. The closing date for submission of online application with additional fee has been extended to 1st October 2018. Applicants have to apply online at the official website of IIT Madras. The tentative date for the release of the admit cards for GATE exam is 4th January 2019. The last date for changing examination city is 16th November 2018. The examination will be held in two slots (Forenoon and Afternoon) on the dates – 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th February 2019. The application fees for SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates are INR 750 (till the last date 21st September) and INR 1250 (for extended deadline). For all other candidates, the fees are INR 1500 and INR 2000 respectively. For NRI candidates, application fee varies from $50 to $120.

To be eligible for NPCIL’s Executive Trainee post, candidates should have B.Tech/B.E Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation discipline from any recognized university or institute in India. Candidates can apply after getting their GATE result. The organization will conduct an interview for the candidates based on the GATE score, before final selection. The personal interview will be of 100 marks. Final selection of candidates will depend on the number of vacancies and interview score.

The upper age limit to be eligible for the post is 26 years as on 18.04.2019. Age relaxation for various categories will be based on government norms. Male candidates from General/OBC category have to pay a fee of INR 500. SC/ST candidates and female candidates are exempted from paying fees.

As Executive Trainees, candidates will have to undergo training and after completion, they will be appointed as Scientific Officer/C in Group A. Candidates will receive a monthly stipend during the training period. Selected candidates will have to sign an agreement or bond for INR 4, 30,000 to serve at NPCIL for at least three years post training.
