Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik dedicated to people the ₹300cr Rukura Irrigation project

Sundargarh: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated to people the ₹300cr Rukura Irrigation project for providing irrigation to 5800 hectares. State Government is resolutely working towards providing irrigation facilities on 10 lakh hectares of agricultural land by March 2019.

With top most priority being accorded to irrigation, ₹75,000cr will be spent on irrigation in next five years. Since 2000, the irrigation budget of the State has grown over ten times, from ₹850cr in 2000 to ₹10,200Cr in 2018-19.

He announced housing for the needy in three mining blocks of Sundargarh district under Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana. He reaffirmed State Government’s continued focus on improving livelihoods of Kendu leaf pluckers and farmers and underscored measures being taken to ensure their all-round welfare.
