Bhubaneswar: “NALCO is focussing on Nature, Nurture and Future. The company strives to maintain a fine balance, addressing bio-diversity and sustenance of eco-system through our afforestation and wildlife conservation efforts,” said Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD of the company while inaugurating the Van Mahostav celebration by planting a coconut sapling in NALCO’s HRD Centre of Excellence, Bhubaneswar. NALCO has taken up Make Green Project by planting at least 1 tree per every tonne of bauxite it produced. As on date, NALCO’s bauxite production is 6.8 million tonne and it has planted 9.7 million trees in the vicinity of its plants and mines.
It may be mentioned that Navratna NALCO has joined the Nation in observing the Van Mahotsav Week, being held from 1st July to 7th July. Among others, Shri K.C. Samal, Director (Finance), Shri V. Balasubramanyam, Director (Production), Shri S.K. Roy, Director (P&T), Shri B.R. Samal, Chief Vigilance Officer and other senior officials of the company were present on the occasion.
