Kaniha: The second edition of Pustak Mela and Lok Mahotsav organized by NTPC Talcher Kaniha in association with Pabritramohan Nagarika Mancha, Kaniha is going on full swing in Bijigol. NTPC Talcher Kaniha has extended its full support in sponsoring this event and making it a huge success. Shri Nabakishore Das, Hon’ble Minister of State, Health & Family Welfare, Shri Braja Kishore Pradhan, Hon’ble MLA, Talcher, Shri Mukesh Kumar Pal, Hon’ble MLA, Pallahara, Shri Manoj Kr Mohanty, Collector, Angul and Shri Sudip Nag, CGM, NTPC Talcher Kaniha were the guest of honors in the inaugural ceremony held on November 25, 2019.
Started in 2018, the Book Fair & Folk Festival provides a sound environment for book readers and cultural enthusiasts to come together. Addressing a large audience, Shri Sudip Nag, CGM, NTPC Kaniha said, “The importance of literature and knowledge of our rich cultural heritage has increased by manifolds in this digital world.” He further added that this week-long event will prove to be a confluence of readers and writers. Speaking on NTPC Kaniha’s efforts in providing socio-economic development of the region, Shri Sudip Nag highlighted various CSR initiatives undertaken by the Station.
The Pustak Mela and Lok Mahotsav are being held in Bijigol till December 3, 2019 and are proving to be a major crowd puller for the public. During the inaugural ceremony, two books- ‘Phool Phagun’ by Rahas Bihari and ‘Nitinwin’ by Professor Madan Mohan Mohanty were released by the dignitaries.
