Madhya Pradesh gears up for disaster management

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh has made best arrangements for disaster control by using state-of-the-art technology. Team Madhya Pradesh is ready to deal with every situation of all kinds of disasters like flood, earthquake, fire, accident etc.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that I congratulate all the concerned departments including the Home Department, Home Guards, SDERF for the incredible efforts.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan today dedicated the State Level Situation Room set up at Vallabh Bhawan Annexe-2 and the State Level Control and Command Center established at Home Guard Headquarters. On this occasion Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri, DG Home Guards, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary Shri S.N. Mishra etc. were present.

Strong network ready for disaster management

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that now a strong network for disaster management has been formed in the state. State level Situation Rooms have been linked with State Level Control and Command Centers and Control and Command Centers of 52 districts.

Rescue operation will be visible live

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that with the development of this network and the use of state-of-the-art technology in it, will not only make quick rescue and relief operations possible but will also make live monitoring of rescue and relief operations possible.

Live feed of 16 departments will be utlized

Various types of databases like – updated water level of all dams, updated status of opening of gates of dams, updated water –level of rivers through river gauge- level, updated database of Meteorological Department, real time database of ambulances and vehicles of Dial-100 and Dial-108, 10 thousand CCTV of traffic, live feed of cameras, live feed of 500 cameras of smart city etc. will be made through 1000 Mbps leased line at State Level Situation Room and State Level Control Command Center,. Arrangement to use live feed access of total 16 departments made.

Live feed of various religious places and fair sites

Live feed of various religious places and fair sites will also be available to the Situation Room and State Level Control Command Center. In these, better management will be ensured from the state level in the case of of a disastrous situation.

District Level Command and Control Center

District command and control call centers are being set up in 45 out of 52 districts of the state and in the 7 smart city districts, the integrated command and control centres established earlier under the Smart City Project will be used. The pilot project of the District Command and Control Center has been started in three districts Hoshangabad, Sehore and Raisen.

Use in various government activities

The situation room and command and control centers can be utilized for various activities of the government – in the form of district level call center in disaster and emergency situation, for monitoring of CM Helpline, feedback for improving the public service delivery system, for campaigns launched by the government from time to time, surveys, procurement, vaccination, other activities, feedback for improving the public service delivery system and for the district administration as per requirement.

CM witnesses Mock Live Demo of Disaster Control

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also saw (virtually) the mock live demo of disaster control performed by the home guards in the situation room. Under this, he saw the rescue and relief measures taken to save people drowning in the river.
