Madhya Pradesh CM says State Wide Campaign to be Launched Soon to Preserve Water due to Scanty Rains

 

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that keeping in view the scanty rainfall in the state, water accumulation work will be carried out at campaign level. Wherever it is possible, concrete structure will be built to preserve water. In the remaining places, arrangements will be made to preserve water by constructing mud dams. Work to preserve flowing water will be undertaken immediately. Shri Chouhan was addressing the Farmers’ Convention after performing bhoomi poojan of Krishi Upaj Mandi and dedication of newly constructed Community Health Centre at Ashta tahsil head quarters of Sehore district today.

CM Shri Chouhan mentioned that problems have emerged for Kharif crops owing to the scanty rainfall. He directed the officers that harvesting should be carried out cautiously to avoid harm to the farmers. Shri Chouhan further stated that the rent of the warehouses for storing agriculture produces will be borne by the government now. The government will purchase soybean in case if selling price declines against the support price. He mentioned that Bhavantar Yojana has been implemented by the government to bring down the market risk. The farmers will start getting benefit of this scheme from this Kharif season.

Moreover, Shri Chouhan said that all the undisputed mutation and demarcation cases will be redressed within next 3 months. An action at campaign level is being taken in the state. After this, a reward of Rs. One lakh will be given to the person who gives information to the government about more than 3 months old pending cases.

Dedication of New Hospital Building

CM Shri Chouhan dedicated new hospital building built at a cost of Rs. 17.85 crore, parks costing Rs. 67 lakh, 10 connecting roads of various villages under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Ashta. An amount of Rs. 13.85 crore has been spent on construction of about 24.19 k.m. long roads. Furthermore, Shri Chouhan performed bhoomi poojan of Chacharsi High School Building to be constructed at a cost of Rs. One crore, Jawar College Building worth Rs. 6 crore 50 lakh and 10 lakh liters capacity water tank worth Rs. 87 lakh.

In this series, he also laid foundation of 10 roads being constructed by Public Works department and Indoor Stadium in college of Ashta. Shri Chouhan also distributed cheques among the beneficiaries of various government schemes in the farmers’ convention.

Minister for Agriculture Shri Gaurishankar Bisen, Minister for Health Shri Rustam Singh, Minister in charge Sehore Shri Rampal Singh, President Jila Panchayat Smt. Urmila Maretha, Agriculture Production Commissioner Shri P. C. Meena, Principal Secretary Agriculture Shri Rajesh Rajora, Senior Officers and farmers in large number were present in the programme.
