Angul: Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) observed the 14th Punyatithi of its founder Shri Om Prakash Jindal , affectionately invoked as ‘Bauji’ at its plant premises and periphery villages by organizing a series of voluntary and charitable activities. These Two days long observation program started with paying floral tribute to the great soul by Mr. Pankaj Gautam, Chief Operating Officer and Mrs. Prativa Gautam, Mr. Suresh Kumar, ED-Maintenance , Mr. Damodar Mittal, Brig. K.K.Chopra, Mr. Ravikant Somani, Mr. S.K. Sharma, Mr. Alok Malhotra, Dr. Krushna Chandra Behera, Mrs. Puspalata Satapathy, Swami Satyabindu and various other department heads and their family members.
On this occasion Mr. Pankaj Gautam inaugurated the Voluntary Blood Donation camp organized with the help of District Blood Bank Angul and greeted the volunteer blood donors for serving the society through this noble way. 82 Number of blood units were collected in this voluntary blood donation camp and were deposited in the District Blood Bank to cater to the timely requirement of blood .
JSPL Foundation, the CSR Arm of JSPL and the member of Jindal Mahila Samiti (JMS) led by Mrs. Prativa Gautam also visited several Old-age Homes, Deaf Dumb and Blind School and Kanya Ashram operating in the locality and provided food grain and other food material support to them.
Awardees of O.P Jindal Star and Jewel Scholarship also received their certificate of merit and the award amount from Mr. Pankaj Gautam, who wished the students for a better career and to become a good human being. Mr. R.P. Agrawal, Mr. Bimal Saha and Mr. Chhanda Charan Das attended the Scholarship award programme and advised the students to focus on their study to fulfill their dreams.
Thousands of employees, workers and people from the periphery villages also joined the ‘ Akhanda Ram Charita Manas’ recital programme organized at the Devbhoomi inside Jindal Nagar and paid their tribute to the architect and great visionary Bauji.
District Blood Bank Officer (I/C) Dr. Kumar Soumyakant Bisoi and other government officials, Chief Medical Officer of JSPL Dr. Krushna Chandra Behera and employees from CSR and Occupational Health Center of JSPL coordinated the blood donation camp ,organised by JSPL Foundation..
In Bhubaneswar Office employees of JSPL and JSW together paid their homage to the Founder of the Group Sri OP Jindal . Walking in the Memory lane, Many senior employees of both the Companies retrospected their personal moments with Sri OP Jindal , the Bauji , loaded with affection and inspiration . Study materials along with Food were served to the students of Deaf Nursery School managed by Odisha Association of Deaf.
Shri O.P. Jindal is not only known as a business leader and industrialist of India, but also famous for his social work and dedication to sustainable social development. He was serving as a Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana at the time of his demise. He was also a Member of Parliament to the 11th Lok Sabha and he has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ for his outstanding contribution to the Indian Steel Industry.
