Himachal Pradesh Minister Virender Kanwar takes stock of activities of Animal Husbandry Departments

Shimla: Rural Development and Animal Husbandry Minister Virender Kanwar reviewed various activities and schemes being run by the department in a meeting held with the officers of Department here today.

While presiding over the meeting Virender Kanwar said the officers of department must work with their utmost dedication and commitment so that the benefits of various schemes could be ensured to the eligible beneficiaries.

Animal Husbandry Minister directed the officials to take time bound steps to ensure shelter to all the destitute cows so that the state could be made destitute cattle free soon. He said that a dedicated Helpline number must be started soon for the livestock owners of the state so that they can easily get the necessary information through the helpline of the department. He also directed the officers to complete the work of Animal Health Cards at the earliest.

Virender Kanwar asked to chalk out an action plan for providing training to progressive dairy farmers. He said that these trainings would be helpful in bringing improvement in animal husbandry methods and the cattle farmers of the state would get immensely benefitted with it. He gave necessary directions for the development of Gaushalas and Cow Sanctuaries in the state. He also asked to further strengthen the facilities being provided in Gaushalas and Cow Sanctuaries the state.
