Deputy Commissioner inaugurates natural farming product centre in Dharamshala

Report by Arvind Sharma; Dharamsala: Deputy Commissioner Kangra Rakesh Kumar Prajapati today inaugurated the Natural Farming Products Sale Centre sponsored by Atma organisation of Kangra in the Deputy Commissioner Office premises in dharamsala. He said that natural farming is being emphasized in the entire state , for which budget has been provisioned. He said that the target of 12 thousand farmers to adopt natural farming was set under the natural farming Khushal Kisan Yojana in district Kangra. Under this, 486 two-day training programs were organized by Atma Kangra in 15 development blocks. Under this, 14135 farmers were trained and 12536 farmers adopted this method and produced poison free vegetables and crops in their fields. He said that every Friday, poison free vegetables will be sold by farmers who are adopting natural farming in the premises of the Deputy Commissioner Office, where people will get insect-free, chemical-free products at reasonable prices.

He called upon people to take advantage of non-chemical products. “This will also encourage the farmers in increase their livelihood. The minimum cost, high yield, high quality, healthy environment is the natural farming in the true sense of prosperity, self-reliance and income-generating farming to farmers and gardeners,” said Prajapati. He said that the addresses of all those who trained and who have adopted this method by Atma Kangra have been added to the portal with Aadhaar and telephone numbers.

He said that farmers adopting this method are also being given a grant of 25 thousand rupees on domestic cow.

On this occasion, Additional Agriculture Deputy Director Dr. NK Badhan, Project Officer Atma Kangra, Dr. DK Awasthi, Deputy Project Officer Dr. Atul Dogra, Subjectivism Specialist Zero Cost Natural Farming Dr. Arun Beas and other officials and farmers were present.
