Bhubaneswar: Ever since its entry to Odisha market with the successful ‘Blueprint for Smart Odisha’ campaign, Dalmia Cement has moved itself at a speed to justify what its tagline reads, ‘Dil Jode, Desh Jode’. Contributing to nation building by multiple special grade cement, the brand has left no stone unturned to reach out to the masses. Initiatives have been taken during the year to spread awareness about the science and art of quality construction. On similar thoughts the IIA NATCON (National Convention) was between the 7TH, – 9TH of December 2017 at Mayfair, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
NATCON is the National convention or congregation of Architects and Urban Planners. Every year at different location within India. This year the national council of IIA had selected Bhubaneswar as the host city for the mega event, being one of the fastest emerging cities in the country. The theme this year: Architectural footprints stepping onto the smart city, which discussed “The Smart City Mission”. Dalmia Cement was one of the main sponsor for IIA, with NATCON being their main annual event.
The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), is the National body of architects in the country, established in 1917, with over 20,000 member all over India.
Anirban Paul Chowdhury, Head of Marketing for Dalmia Cement in East, said “We are delighted to be a part of this event which can bring forth a revolution, in the architecture community. We hope to highlight the fact that we are the World’s Greenest Cement and that it is necessary to think about the future generations, while building for them.”
Ar. Sagar Mahapatra, Chairman, IIA-Odisha Chapter stated “IIA is thankful for the initiative taken by Dalmia Cement and supporting this initiative, we hope this association goes on for the years to come”.
Dalmia Cement had their own kiosk on display present during the event, which highlighted the different types of cements with the initiative, which focused on educating people about specialized cements that can be used for different types of construction work. Dalmia Cement has been pioneering in slag cement with many befitting cement types for different stages of construction. By using slag, a waste material from steel industry, as its raw material, Dalmia Cement has proven determination to stay environment-friendly. It has been recognized as World’s Greenest Cement for its low carbon footprint based on GNR data of World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s Cement Sustainability Initiative.
The people who were present were explained about the process of building a house or had plans in the future were given suggestions on best construction practices by industry experts at the venue.
