Bhubaneswar: A book titled ‘Aluminium:The Future Metal’, authored by Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO, was released by Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Minister of Mines, Govt. of India. The book, focussing on the entire value chain of aluminium industry is the second book authored by Dr. Chand. Earlier, he had authored the book, ‘Aluminium : The Strategic Metal’, which was highly acclaimed by the industry leaders and policy makers. The newly released book ‘Aluminium : The Future Metal’ gives a comprehensive overview of the strategic metal and its futuristic role in the growth of industry and economy of the country. The book was released in the presence of Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State for Mines, Govt. of India, Shri Prafulla Mallick, Hon’ble Minister of Mines, Govt. of Odisha and Mines Ministers of various States, during the 4th National Conclave on Mines & Minerals, held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, today. Among others, Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, Shri Anil Gopishankar Mukim, Union Mines Secretary, Dr. Aruna Sharma, Union Steel Secretary, Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO and the CEOs of Public and Private Sectors in Mining and Manufacturing industries of the country were notably present.
Also, as a responsible Mother Plant, NALCO, the Navratna CPSE under Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India, launched ‘NAMASYA’ – a mobile App for the Micro & Small Enterprises, on the occasion. The ‘NAMASYA’ (NALCO Micro & Small enterprise Yogayog Application) mobile App is specially designed by NALCO to provide a platform and support to the Micro & Small Scale industries to carry out their businesses. While launching the App, the Union Minister of Mines, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar appreciated NALCO’s initiatives as a mother industry to promote the MSMEs.
Informing about the APP, Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO said : “NALCO has always believed in inclusive growth and sustainable development. As part of its efforts to promote and encourage the Micro and Small industries, besides other premiums, we have come up with this innovative App, that can provide these industries and entrepreneurs an edge in the future. NALCO has always come forward to support this sector that has enormous employment opportunities for the youth of the country.”
NALCO, as a major participant in the event, has also put up a pavilion to showcase its activities and achievements in the mining sector. The pavilion was inaugurated by Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Minister of Mines, Govt. of India and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, in the presence of Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO. Shri V. Balasubramanyam, Director (Production) and other senior officials of NALCO were present on the occasion.
