Bhubaneswar : ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), Odisha Operations, has extended its support ‘Mo Khata’ (My Compost) initiative of the Housing & Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha.
AM/NS India enabled procured five tonnes of organic manure with the payment of Rs.1 lakh to the Paradeep Municipality.
Mr. P K Mohanty, Head-Administration and Industrial Relations, had handed over the cheque of Rs 1 lakh to Mr. Sourindra Kumar Routray, Executive Officer, Paradeep Municipality in presence of Dr Kahnu Charan Dhir, ADM, Paradeep and other senior officials of AM/NS India.
Mr. G Suresha, Executive Director, AM/NS India, Odisha Operations said,” The response to ‘Mo Khata’ is very encouraging where more than 2,000 Mission Shakti women, Self Help Groups (SHGs), local youth, etc. are involved to produce compost. As a socially responsible company, we believe to grow along with the community and support the paradigm shift.”
Mr. Routray thanked AM/NS India – Odisha Operations for the support saying, “The women in SHG whose livelihood depend on producing compost will be encouraged and benefited.”
AM/NS India will continue to extend required support to the district and state administration for such people centred initiatives with an endeavour to generate employment opportunities in the state for youth, said Mr. P K Mohanty.
